Beers for 2007 festival
Adnams Explorer (ABV 4.3%)
A blonde beer
suffused with the aromas of a grapefruit grove. The massive citrus attack will burst on your palate allowing all the flavours
of the imported New World hops to deliver their fruity bitterness. We’ve done our research here and we expect Explorer
to be particularly popular with both younger and women drinkers as the light refreshing drink of choice.
Greene King IPA (3.6% ABV) is a great tasting beer, characterised
by its fresh, hoppy taste and clean, bitter finish.
This award-winning beer's hoppy taste and aroma comes from two varieties of English hops, which are combined with pale
and crystal malts.
Greene King IPA is a great beer to enjoy particularly with certain foods such as curry, Mexican and other spicy food. But
it's equally enjoyable on it's own.
Abbot ale (ABV 5%) first brewed during the 1950s
and its popularity has never waned. Indeed, it was recently named as one of the top 10 ales that licensees would most like
to stock. Abbot Ale is brewed longer to a unique recipe. This makes it the full, flavoured, smooth and mature beer it
is today.
Odyssey (ABV 4.0%) &&&& Odyssey
Best Bitter - ABV 4.0% A full-bodied balance of maltiness, gentle coffee notes and smooth, slightly sweet flavours builds
to a clean bitterness with hints of marmalade.
Caledonian Xpa (ABV 4.3%)
Hand brewed in Edinburgh by our dedicated team of brewers, XPA is Caledonian's exceptional, new, hand pulled beer. Brewed
using Northdown, Cascade and Hallertau Hersbrucker hops it has a pale golden colour and is full flavoured with a bittersweet
finish. Caledonian's new XPA is a great way to start the evening, and the perfect addition to our range.
Adnams Regatta (ABV 4.3%) The perfect summer
bitter and back again by popular demand. A refreshing thirst-quenching pint that's light, bright and crisp in flavour. Delicious
served cool on a warm summer's day. Distinctively different, Adnams Regatta will make a welcome return in June through to
August this year
Brains SA (ABV 4.2%)
The renowned ‘special ale’ is copper coloured with a full premium quality flavour. A nutty richness derived
from a blend of fine pale and crystal malts is balanced with a satisfying dryness from the unique use of three hops : Challenger,
Goldings and Fuggles. The aroma has a hint of spirit which adds to the legendary mystique of this premium cask beer
We all had a great time last year even though the weather was bad.The beer was all sold by late Saturday
evening. We welcome everybody to come and sample these beers and to enjoy themselves and make it another success
. Below are the details of the first ever Abbeycwmhir Beer festival which took place on the 18th & 19th
